Quick Eagle ChoiceView Plus - Network Management

ChoiceView Plus™ enables users of Quick Eagle’s multifunctional, intelligent WAN access devices as well as its intelligent CSU/DSUs to remotely monitor all layers of their WAN connections in real time. Thus ChoiceView Plus eliminates the need for expensive, dedicated network monitoring solutions. Enterprises, managed service providers, and telecommunications carriers can take advantage of ChoiceView Plus’ capabilities to lower their total cost of ownership, improve productivity by rapidly isolating network problems, and empower them to better manage their service level agreements.

Using a range of standards-based utilities, ChoiceView Plus provides the ability to accurately monitor IP and Frame Relay networks from any PC with an Internet connection, enabling network managers to reduce costs and improve their network performance. In addition to providing FRF.13 compliance for Frame Relay Service Level Agreement (SLA) verification, ChoiceView Plus enables robust monitoring of Quality of Service (QoS) statistics necessary for critical IP applications such as voice-over-frame relay and video conferencing.

Supporting Quick Eagle’s intelligent WAN access devices - Solo Selects, 4200 Access Platforms, and 5800 Access Platforms - ChoiceView Plus graphically displays key statistics on network performance in four areas: congestion control, capacity planning, SLA verification, and physical link performance.

Using RMON-1 functionality, frame relay service can be monitored for congestion, link utilization, per DLCI, % utilization, packet-size distribution and more. Standards-based RMON-2 functionality allows the monitoring of the top 256 bandwidth users and applications and provides, through enhanced capacity control screens, the ability to monitor specific IP conversations. In addition, ChoiceView Plus provides element management capability, allowing users to remotely configure network elements down to the device and port level, including alarm configuration, enabling users to isolate problems quickly and fine-tune bandwidth management to specific business requirements.

ChoiceView Plus includes physical layer monitoring to track current T1/E1 statistics at 15-minute intervals, highly flexible alarm and event management, and user-configurable data display options. The software also features the ability to store and retrieve network configurations, password control and other security features, and exports reports in XML format for integration into XML based tools.
